Help Support Scholars Now

Servants For Hope believes in the power of education to transform lives, families and communities. Covid-19 presents daunting challenges for all those involved in education at school and at home. Now more than ever students need adequate school supplies to begin the year properly. More importantly, they need ongoing, personalized support during this strange and difficult time.

That’s where SFH, our partners, promoters and providers come in!

During our 6th Annual Support A Scholar Kick-off event SATURDAY August 17th, 2024 @ Hopewell Church 6600 S. Hermitage Ave. Chicago, IL 60636 beginning at 11am Servants For Hope will be registering and giving supply-filled backpacks to hundreds of underserved students from local CPS schools. Following a communal lunch and special guest DJ performance, there will be a talent show to highlight the voices in the community, and a 3 v 3 hoops tournament to showcase the talents of our aspiring athletes.

“SFH is strategically focused on supporting young students and their families. Our unique ‘community scholarship’ model is being developed directly with doctors, teachers, parents and their children to help provide the comprehensive assistance required for underserved scholars to succeed while enabling donors to become active, ongoing supporters of these deserving students throughout the school year” - Founder, Deonte Tanner

If you, your family, school or company would like to provide the sustained support our scholars’ needs now more than ever, while receiving personal updates on their progress, join us in this fight for education democracy.

SFH is hoping to change the way communities help underserved students. We thank you for helping make systemic change through action and cooperation; not words alone.

Before conducting research, crafting policies, and implementing them, try walking a mile in the shoes of those students and then you’ll see what they really need. Instead of so much “reform” we need investment. We need folks who care about our community. We need a pedagogy of love, hope and healing. We’ll never fully understand why they close schools in marginalized communities or why there are marginalized communities to begin with. We’ll never understand why we as a people must whether injustice after injustice, police terrorism, systemic racism and oppression, and school closures. We’ll never understand why we get the short end of the stick every time but are expected to accomplish a multitude. BUT despite all of that, it is one thing nobody can take from us and it’s our hearts. If our hearts are beating, we’ll find a way to press on!
